I guess your workaround does work but you kinda have to organize the data yourself. Not sure if the issue is on Wine side or not but the side effect is that each time you'll need to start from the desktop instead of where your data is at. On Windows, it defaults to the desktop initially (I think), but then if you navigate to any other folders to load assets, the next time you try to load more assets it will remember your last location.

When I try to run 64-bit AssetStudio it just bombs so I have no option but to run the 32-bit version. Yeah the issue was that I couldn't get wine-mono to work on Mac, so I had to install. Now another menu asking to run directly in will appear. Click on that wine to open your exe files. Now another popup menu will appear where you can see wine with its icon. In drop-down menu you will see the option of open with click on that. Here is a tip to help people who see this post in the future. Now look a exe file and right click on it to open drop-down menu. I've never run AssetStudio on Windows and I'm not sure if it's a bug of Wine or an issue with AssetStudio. Are you having the same issue on Linux? Thanks! Here is a tip to help people who see this post in the Okay the only issue I'm having so far is that each time I "Load Folder" it would not remember the last folder I was at unlike when running this on actual Windows, so each time I have to traverse the tree to get to my data.

Finally I don't need to turn on my old Windows PC each time I want to use AssetStudio, thanks so much for pushing me in the right direction!ĭue to the 32 bit memory limitation, memory overflow problems sometimes occur.Īccording to my test, 64bit version 14 can be run directly with the wine command, but 64bit version 15 needs to use wine64. Running the 32-bit version worked! Let's hope that Prefare will continue to support it for now. Since I was following your instructions I only tried 64-bit but luckily AssetStudio still supports 32-bit. I went back and read the FAQ for Mono and was reminded that if I installed.

#Run exe on mac in wine install#
I have Wine Staging installed but how exactly do you install wine-mono? Do you just download the 4.7.2 msi from and run wine msiexec /i wine-mono-4.7.2.msi ? I tried that and it seemingly installed it but when I try to run AssetStudio it just hangs and sits there. NET as long as I can get AssetStudio working.
